Job description

About the Role

As an Electrician A you will construct, maintain, repair, troubleshoot, and install electrical equipment, systems and components including motors, process pumps and controls, programmable logic controllers, building construction and handling equipment. You will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and be located at Ogden, UT. The role requires 100% on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate electrical testing instruments, hand tools (manual and power), tube benders, splicing equipment, wire pulling equipment and miscellaneous hand tools.
  • Work with wire, contactors, switches, motors, breakers, fuses and miscellaneous electrical hardware, process equipment and chemicals.
  • MAY periodically direct lower classified crafts persons.
  • Receive oral and written instructions from supervisor.
  • Maintain, test and repair electrical circuitry and equipment to assure electrical compatibility and safety.
  • Install and repair building electrical systems per National Electrical Code requirements.
  • Check and maintain electrical apparatus, equipment, facilities, and systems, and maintain preventative maintenance records.
  • Measure, cut and bend wire and conduit using multiple hand tools.
  • Repair and replace switches, fuses, controls, and other electrical hardware.
  • Notify supervisor of any irregularities or malfunctions by established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and replace or repair defective components.
  • Assist other maintenance technicians or engineers.
  • Coordinate area activities with central maintenance shop.
  • Train other crafts persons as assigned.
  • Observe all safety rules.
  • Maintain a clean work area and return all tools, unused materials and written references to designated locations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required or applicable education from a trade or technical school in industrial electrical maintenance may qualify for part of experience requirement.
  • Five (5) years electrical craft experience, three (3) of which must be in industrial electrical maintenance.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $34.72 to $49.54 per hour.
