Job Overview

Under general supervision from higher level supervisor, perform master electrical and electronic work; supervise variously skilled electricians in electrical and electronic work.

Essential Functions

• Perform highly skilled electrical and electronic repairs and installations including program controllers; install and assist in the installation of wire, conduit, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical devices.
• Plan, implement, and perform inspection programs of electrical and electronic systems, wiring components, and accessories; repair as needed to ensure safety and functionality.
• Read blueprints, sketches, and layouts; plan jobs, determine materials needed, estimate time, make cost estimates, and compile reports and work orders.
• Supervise skilled and semi-skilled electricians and tradespeople; assist in work allocation, performance review, training, and coordinate with other trades.
• Maintain housekeeping conditions as prescribed by area.
• Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

Minimum Requirements

Must have an approved certificate from an accredited electrician apprenticeship program and two years of related work experience, or a high school/GED diploma and five years of related work experience. Must hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable record.
