Job summary

Unlimited Technology is seeking an experienced Electrician for our Install Team to install, program, terminate, and commission access control, security, and related systems across government facilities. You will troubleshoot, test, and repair wiring, conduits, panels, and safety systems while maintaining strict security and safety standards.

Requires a Virginia or Maryland license and 3+ years in low-voltage electrical or security installation, with OSHA certification preferred and ability to

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Virginia or Maryland electrician license (Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice level).
  • Current OSHA safety certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3+ years of field experience in low-voltage electrical, security system installation, or integration.
  • Ability to Work on classified or sensitive government facilities.
  • Able to Follow strict security protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all electrical work performed.
  • Ability to obtain a Government Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and/or repair electrical power, communications, security and control systems.
  • Install conduit, wiring, outlets, and electrical panels
  • Test electrical systems using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and test electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices, and computer software.
  • Reassemble and test equipment after repairs.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring and relays in security and safety control systems, using electrician's tools.
  • Locate, remove, install and/or repair circuit defects such as blown fuses or circuit breakers.
  • Refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications that show connections and provide instructions on how to locate problems.
  • Install security equipment, outlets, terminal boards, switches, and wall boxes, using hand tools.
  • Install new fuses, electrical cables, or power sources as required.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures, outlet boxes, and fuse holders, using electric drills and routers.
  • Able to professionally communicate with customers to determine the nature of malfunctions.
  • Estimate costs of repairs based on parts and labor requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and install frameworks and conduit to support and connect wiring, control panels, and junction boxes, using hand tools.
  • Complies with insurance and safety requirements and standards.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment on all job sites.
  • Participate in internal and onsite meetings to report progress and resolve issues.
  • Attend ongoing technical and safety training to stay current with industry best practices and technologies.

The Install Team is looking for an experienced Electrician for installing, programming, terminating, and commissioning a wide range of access control, products and systems..

RESPONSIBILITIES

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Comfortable working at heights on ladders and aerial lifts
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, crawl spaces, and above ceiling areas
  • Manual dexterity for detailed wiring and component installation
  • Visual acuity for reading technical drawings and identifying wire colors
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safety gear, as needed
