Job summary

Arbor Electric Service Inc in Town of Florida, NY is seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team. You will handle installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, and you may train apprentices on the job.

Candidates must read schematics and blueprints, install wiring and lighting, test circuits and ensure compliance with NEC/CEC. A valid driver’s license, good math skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew are essential.

Qualifications

• Journeyman license not required but preferred.
• Previous experience as an Electrician.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Clean background; must pass Jessica Lunsford Act screening.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Professional appearance and courteous demeanor.
• Comfortable with ladders and physically demanding work.
• Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must speak, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate records, work orders and documentation.
• Use blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine electrical requirements and materials needed.
• Install new electrical systems and repair existing systems.
• Install, repair, or replace electrical wiring, switch boxes, receptacles, feeders, and conduits.
• Perform installations for lighting systems.
• Install and maintain panels, circuits, switches, and protection devices according to NEC/CEC.
• Calibrate and maintain electrical and industrial control equipment.
• Conduct electrical testing for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on commercial systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may impact production or safety.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and installations.
