Job description

In this role you will be part of the maintenance team in our business group, Subsea and Land Systems, specialized on execution of the turn-key and supply-only contracts for the Subsea and Land cable manufacturing and installation around the globe.

Job Responsibilities
  • The maintenance department carries out major and minor maintenance projects as well as ongoing preventive and corrective maintenance at the factory. This applies to both production machines, buildings and other infrastructure. During implementation, high attention is required on safe implementation, technical facilitation and ongoing assessment of risk.
  • Ability to assist in carrying out maintenance activities
  • Proactive follow-up of maintenance work in the field of health and safety to help the factory reach its goals.
  • Participate in risk analyzes and JSA before and during the maintenance work
  • Follow-up use of LOTO / entry permit
  • Ability to follow instructions and advice from senior electricians
  • Contribute to the preparation of EPLs (One page lectures) and procedures for performing standard maintenance missions
  • Assist the department with technical procedures for procurement
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment proficiently for troubleshooting.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards, problems, and the need for service, repair and/or replacement of electrical components.
  • Assist with installation of new production and facility equipment, assist with electrical modifications to existing equipment, and relocation of existing equipment.
  • Maintains a high level of work ethics and safety, in all aspects of electrical work that is being completed.
  • All work must comply with all safety regulations (i.e., OSHA, Company, and local codes where applicable).
  • Assis with repairs, maintains, and installs electrical systems and equipment such as, but not limited to, motors, drives, wiring and associated devices.
  • Help locates and determines electrical malfunctions using test instruments such as ammeter, multi-meter, and temperature probe.
  • Employee is required to keep work area neat, clean, and free from hazards.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift and aerial lift platform licenses.
  • Participates in new installations and modifications to existing equipment to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable performance of equipment.
  • Must be able and willing to assume other responsibilities, within reason and with proper instruction, deemed necessary to meet optimum labor utilization.
Education
  • Education within electrical subjects
  • 3 years in electrical maintenance work within manufacturing is preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs, use hoist or assistance for weight above 50lbs
  • Ability to walk long distances, climb stairs, ladders, bend, squat, crawl, kneel and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions such as hot, cold, rain and humidity
