Job summary

Lincoln Electric, a leader in welding technologies, seeks an experienced panel builder and electrical technician in the Detroit area. You will read build prints, wire panels and sub-assemblies, and support machine startups and field service with a focus on quality and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma and 5+ years in panel build, wiring and debugging, with Journeyman status preferred. This on-site role requires teamwork, craftsmanship and adherence to ECO processes.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Journeyman’s card or Journeyman status preferred.
  • 5+ years minimum experience in panel build, field wiring, de-bug.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret build prints. Work with Electrical Engineers and build Leaders to correct any problems with design of the machine/controls.
  • Wiring of panels, J-boxes for sub-assemblies, final assemblies and any other Electrical task for the job.
  • Assist in disassembly, packing and loading of machines for shipment.
  • Follow good housekeeping practices throughout the plant.
  • Complete as required in process QC check sheets.
  • Complete as required QC audits.
  • Assure good craftsmanship on jobs that are being built.
  • Take direction from Leader and/or Supervisor.
  • Provide feedback on job status to Mechanical Assembly Leader.
  • Know and understand due dates for jobs and schedule work accordingly.
  • Follow-up with supervisor on daily basis to report progress of job(s) being worked on.
  • Fill-in where required for absences.
  • Order material and follow-up with receiving when required.
  • Assist in start-up/de-bug of equipment.
  • Recommend as appropriate work methods and/or materials that will improve existing designs.
  • Travel as needed to assist in installations, de-bug, tryout, or problem solving at customer locations.
  • Recommend, initiate, and follow-up as needed on engineering changes and document according to ECO procedures.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects and special assignments as needed.
  • Provide training and assistance to new employees

Job Requirements

Education: High School Diploma required.
