Job summary

Seattle Housing Authority is seeking an Electrician to perform maintenance and upkeep of electrical systems for SHA at our Seattle facilities.

The ideal candidate will have an electrician apprenticeship, a state license, a valid WA driver's license, and first aid certification. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, read blueprints, and support safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Completion of formal electrician apprenticeship training.
  • High school or equivalent education as required by the trade apprenticeship program.
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License and fully insurable driving record.
  • State approved license in residential and commercial wiring.
  • First Aid Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, and upgrade electrical and electronic systems and components in commercial and residential properties.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair lighting systems, electrical controls, phone systems, automatic doors and gates, emergency power systems, and transfer switches.
  • Purchase or order electrical and electronic supplies as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and recommend actions related to condition, safety, and parts procurement.
  • Instruct tenants on proper use of electrical equipment.
  • Support development and implementation of goals, work plans, performance measures, and continuous improvement; collaborate effectively and work well under pressure.
  • Attend required training and safety meetings; maintain PPE; report injuries, illnesses, and hazardous conditions; follow all safety and health guidelines.
  • Create required reports such as maintenance work orders or timesheets.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Education

Formal electrician apprenticeship training
High school diploma or equivalent
Washington State Driver's License
State approved residential and commercial wiring license
First Aid Certification
