Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled
Electrician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting across critical building systems and specialized equipment. In this hands‑on role, you will ensure the reliability of normal and emergency electrical power distribution, fire alarms, and nurse call systems while maintaining strict compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.
The ideal candidate possesses strong diagnostic capabilities, proficiency with technical schematics, and a solid understanding of healthcare or facility electrical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations on normal and emergency electrical power distribution systems, fire alarms, and nurse call equipment.
- Diagnostics & System Repair: Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer manuals to diagnose system failures and identify replacement parts.
- Specialized System Operation: Demonstrate detailed operational and technical knowledge of nurse call systems and fire alarm controls to support continuous facility safety.
- Equipment Installation & Recommendations: Assist with the installation of new electrical equipment and provide technical input regarding system repairs, upgrades, and replacement purchases.
- Documentation & Work Orders: Accurately document all maintenance activities, inspections, and completed work orders using the TMA computer maintenance management software.
- Peer Training & Collaboration: Assist in training fellow electricians on preventive maintenance workflows, equipment repairs, and new installations while supporting professional development initiatives.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere strictly to all organizational health compliance policies, safety codes, and ethical business standards, reporting any non-compliance issues promptly.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Electrician or Electrical Technician, preferably within a hospital, healthcare, or complex commercial facility.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
- System Expertise: Familiarity with emergency power distribution systems, fire alarm control panels, and low-voltage/nurse call systems.
- Computer Proficiency: Comfortable using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) such as TMA to record and track work orders.
- Compliance & Ethics: High commitment to safety, standard operating procedures, and regulatory compliance guidelines.
