Job summary

Lactalis American Group is seeking a Licensed Electrician for our food manufacturing facility in Nampa, Idaho. You will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems to minimize downtime and support continuous production.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Technical degree or certificate in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in food/beverage/manufacturing.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, and automation equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, power generation, maintenance, and repair practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, controls, motors, drives, sensors, and production equipment throughout the facility.
  • Diagnose electrical and control system issues using testing and diagnostic equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain transformers, circuit breakers, MCCs, switchgear, and distribution systems.
  • Repair or replace electrical wiring and components as needed.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new manufacturing equipment and facility upgrades.
  • Identify and resolve electrical issues while adhering to food safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, safety policies and codes.
  • Perform lockout/tagout procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment reliability.
  • Maintain maintenance records and complete work orders in the CMMS.
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, and utility systems.

Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Licensed Electrician based in Nampa, Idaho.

As a Licensed Electrician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our food manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and production equipment to minimize downtime and support continuous manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, technically skilled, and committed to maintaining high standards of quality and operational excellence.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, controls, motors, drives, sensors, and production equipment throughout the facility.
  • Diagnose electrical and control system issues using testing and diagnostic equipment to minimize production downtime.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain transformers, circuit breakers, motor control centers (MCCs), switchgear, and distribution systems.
  • Repair or replace electrical wiring, components, fixtures, and equipment as needed.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and startup of new manufacturing equipment and facility upgrades.
  • Identify and resolve electrical issues while adhering to food safety, quality, and operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable local and state codes.
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, production, engineering, and quality teams to improve equipment reliability and plant performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders using the plant's maintenance management system.
  • Support troubleshooting and maintenance of HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, and utility systems as needed.

  • PLC Programming or Industrial Automation Certifications (preferred)
