Summary

We are recruiting for an Electrician in Facilities Management Service at Franklin Delano Roosevelt Hospital in Montrose NY. The purpose of this position is to install - modify - repair - maintain - troubleshoot - test - and load new and existing electrical lines - circuits - systems - and associated fixtures - controls and equipment.

Qualifications

• Works from building plans - blueprints - wiring diagrams - engineering - drawings - and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and lay out the routing - placement type - size - gauge - balance - load - continuity - and safe operation of electrical lines - circuits - systems - equipment and controls that support industrial operations - computer complexes - or similar complex electrical loads
• The incumbent Is responsible for accurately completing labor job journals and work orders dally as required for Engineering-Service
• He/she must prepare requests for materials and supplies
• Inspects - evaluates - and performs preventive maintenance on electrical units - systems - and equipment - In accordance with established guidelines and JCAHO standards - on a scheduled or unscheduled basis - as necessary - to maintain equipment In optimum operating condition
• Prepares and maintains accurate records and documentation as required by OSHA - JCAHO - and the Department of Veterans Affairs - etc - on equipment - inspections - maintenance and repairs - etc
• Traces hard-to-locate defects or problems associated with the completion of repairs and installations
• Determines and places distribution panels - boxes - fittings - and connections and install wiring - coupling - conduit - relays - fixtures - transformers end other electrical devices including electrical service entrances
