Job summary

Silgan Containers Mfg Corp is seeking an Industrial Electrician in Michigan to install, repair, and maintain electrical systems in a manufacturing setting. The role requires a journeyman certification or equivalent experience, with proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and complex wiring on 4-20 mA through 480 VAC circuits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalency with a trade school certificate
  • Must be a journeyman electrician, or have a minimum of 5 years of prior electricians training or experience
  • Experience with Allen Bradley systems, VFDs, PLCs hardware and software, AC/DC circuits, 4-20 mA through 480 VAC circuits and 440 MCCs
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings, handbooks, specifications, equipment manuals, parts lists and other written material
  • Ability to write code and demonstrate a working knowledge of RS Logic
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on all electrical units, controls, components, and related wiring in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Understand wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, schematic drawing, sketches and verbal instructions covering scheduled and emergency repairs, installations, and inspections
  • Maintain inventory of electrical parts and motors, advising management of purchasing requirements
  • Move and install existing or new equipment and facilities

What you’ll do:
