Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation in Richmond, IN is seeking an Industrial Electrician to keep our manufacturing operation running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

You will troubleshoot, maintain, install, and repair electrical equipment across the plant, with PLC experience and a focus on zero-injury safety.

Starting pay is $34.64 per hour with consistent annual increases and shift differentials on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with PLCs or programmable controllers is preferred.
• Industrial electrical or manufacturing maintenance experience is preferred.
• Ability to work any shift.
• Commitment to safety procedures and zero-injury goals.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and replace electrical systems and equipment.
• Work with electrical fixtures, lighting, meters, motors, and industrial equipment.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC and programmable control systems.
• Maintain plant substations and other industrial electrical systems.
• Document maintenance activities and update electrical documentation.
• Ensure safe work practices across all plant areas.

What You'll Do as an Industrial Electrician

As an Industrial Electrician, you will play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing operation running safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will troubleshoot, maintain, install, and repair electrical equipment and systems throughout the plant.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, sketches, charts, and diagrams
• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, dismantle, and replace electrical systems and equipment
• Work with electrical fixtures, lighting systems, meters, motors, and industrial equipment
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC and programmable control systems
• Work with solid-state electronic control systems, pneumatic systems, and pyrometric equipment
• Perform electrical maintenance on plant substations and other industrial electrical systems
• Complete preventive maintenance inspections and accurately document maintenance activities
• Update and transfer maintenance information to electrical blueprints and documentation
• Diagnose electrical problems and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability
• Work safely throughout all areas of the manufacturing facility, including the roof, boiler house, attic, and other plant areas
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a strong commitment to a zero-injury workplace
