Job Title: ElectricianSupervisor: Maintenance ManagerSupervises: N/APosition Type: Non - ExemptDate: May 2020Summary: The position will be responsible for electrical maintenance, repair, and installation of a variety of production and support equipment as well as perform typical industrial electrical work in accordance with standard practices of the electrical trade. Assignments are received in the form of oral instruction, sketches, blueprints and/or worn or broken parts. Work methods and procedures are determined by the employee and are performed independently or under the general supervision of the maintenance supervisor. The individual must also have ability to perform minor and miscellaneous work outside the realms of the electrical trade. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and correct electrical problems of food manufacturing equipment and automated equipment utilizing VFD’s and PLCs.Essential Job Functions:Responsible for overall management of entire plant electrical system including all equipment and machinery.Frequently anticipates and solves problems and establishes a preventive maintenance program.Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems throughout the entire facility.Maintains inventory of spare or replacement parts and maintains a schedule of serviceto ensure efficient operation.Responsible for ensuring equipment and machinery wiring meets safety standards and are operating at maximum efficiency.Responsible for communication to critical personnel ranging any procedures related to safety, operation of electrical system.Install and troubleshoot new equipmentInstall electrical feeds to new or relocated equipmentCoordinate electrical maintenance and repair performed by outside contractorsEnsure key spare part inventories are maintainedEnsure all schematics, drawings, manuals are maintainedDemonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality service.Other duties include but are not limited to:Repair / replace electrical drops in production areasAdd / remove / relocate drops to eliminate extension cordsMap entire electrical system for both buildingsTrace circuitsLabel electrical panels and end deviceDocument all panels and update as changes are madeCheck and verify phase rotation on every drop throughout facilityEnsure each machine is wired correctlyEliminate phase issues within the plantPerform daily checks on machine electrical systems to ensure safe work environment.Run conduit and wire as neededCompile materials list and place orders with local distributorsCompose and verify LOTO written proceduresTroubleshoot PLC programmingJob Safety Requirements:Safety is our top priority.
