Job summary

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Shop Electrician to join our manufacturing team in Lyndhurst, VA. You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for refrigeration equipment, reading schematics and supporting in-house engineering and manufacturing processes.

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and the ability to read engineering diagrams. A journeyman license is preferred, with opportunities for growth within a fully integrated company.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
• Journeyman license preferred.
• Experience running and bending rigid conduit (up to 4 inches).
• Knowledge of three-phase motors.
• Experience with 480V AC motor control circuits preferred.
• PLC installation and troubleshooting experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
• Must pass pre-employment and regular drug testing (safety sensitive position).
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair electrical systems including medium/high voltage automation systems and motor control circuits.
• Troubleshoot wiring system layouts and circuit routing.

• Read and maintain mechanical/electrical drawings and schematics.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC sensors.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on refrigeration equipment.
• Assist in general construction duties.
• Safely and properly use electrical testing equipment.

Job Role: The Shop Electrician is a key member of our manufacturing team, handling installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for refrigeration equipment. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret engineering schematics. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays. Reports to the VP of Manufacturing.

Key Duties

• Run conduit and wiring; hook up disconnects, switches, push buttons, circuit panels, breakers, suppressors, transformers, and wire terminations
• Install, maintain, test, evaluate, and repair electrical systems including medium/high voltage automation systems and motor control circuits
• Troubleshoot wiring system layouts and circuit routing
• Operate forklifts and/or scissor lifts as required
• Read and maintain mechanical/electrical engineering drawings and schematics
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC sensors
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on all refrigeration equipment
• Assist in general construction duties
• Safely and properly use electrical testing equipment

Requirements
