RWJBarnabas Health in New Brunswick, NJ, is seeking an Electrician to maintain all electrical equipment at Morris Cancer Center. This full-time, day-shift role offers 40 hours weekly with Saturday/Sunday shift every fourth weekend and an hourly pay range of $29.55–$36.94.

Responsibilities include testing and repairing lighting and circuits, installing equipment, operating emergency generation systems, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Technical School graduate or equivalent.
• Three to five years as an Electrician.
• New Jersey Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled tasks such as repairs and adjustments for proper operation of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems as directed by supervision.
• Inspects, tests, installs, and repairs lighting, power and signal circuits.
• Installs or replaces circuits and equipment as necessary.
• Knowledge of emergency generation equipment and circuits.
• Maintains chlorine equipment and makes adjustments/repairs as needed.
• Responds to alarms throughout the facility.
• Performs preventive maintenance and routine adjustments; inspects, calibrates, lubricates, and replaces components.
• Operates and troubleshoots stationary equipment such as pumps, motors, and related plant machinery.

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

Job Overview

Maintain all electrical equipment and circuits in safe operating condition according to the National, State, and Local Electrical Codes.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma, Technical School graduate or equivalent.
• Three to five years as an Electrician.
• New Jersey Driver's License

Preferred

• New Jersey State Electrical License
• Healthcare Environment Experience

Essential Functions

• Performs skilled tasks such as repairs and adjustments necessary for proper operation of mechanical, electrical, H.V.A.C., and plumbing but not limited to the following and in the priority instructed by supervision. Problems in completing the assigned work will be reported to Supervision immediately.
• Inspect, test, install, and repair lighting, power and signal circuits.
• Installation or replacement of circuits and equipment as necessary.
• Knowledge of emergency generation equipment and circuits.
• Maintains chlorine equipment and makes adjustments/repairs as needed.
• Responds immediately to alarms throughout the facility.
• Performs preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment according to established procedures; inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, replaces filters and repairs and replaces components.
• Knowledgeable in the operation of computerized systems and its related equipment and is capable of making necessary adjustments.
• Installs, troubleshoots and repairs stationary equipment such as pumps, compressors, motors, sterilization and Power Plant machinery, etc.
• Ability to drive all types of automobiles/trucks/vans. Including 4-wheel drive, automatic and manual transmission.
