The Electrician will perform electrical repairs throughout the building and on all machines as well as assist Maintenance with the installation of electrical wires of new equipment. This role will also assist external contractors and repair PLC’s as needed. In addition, perform and complete other work, projects, troubleshooting as assigned. All employees must follow all of Graphic Packaging International’s safety procedures and policies.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
Electronic repairs: Perform electronic repairs throughout the building and on all machines. Receive notification of needed repair from any department. Evaluate and prioritize repair work. Retrieve parts from Parts Room as needed; complete a Withdraw Form for all parts taken. Repairs may include installation of machines, heaters, etc.
Programmable Logic Control (PLC) repairs: When notified by Maintenance of needed repair, use experience and machine knowledge to determine cause of problem. Use laptop to scan various areas of PLC as needed to detect problem. Analyze and troubleshoot PLC controls. Make programming changes in control ladder logic. Make necessary repairs.
Support electrical construction and installations projects: Support electrical construction projects, wiring and equipment installations, and other small projects as assigned. Follow specifications of new equipment to make the necessary electrical wires. Install all new wires by using volt meters, amp meters, etc. Test run the machine to verify proper wire installation. Assist Maintenance during startup of machine.
Assist Electrical Contractors: Assist Electrical Contractors with installations and/or troubleshooting of equipment as directed by a Shift Manager.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
The electrician role starts at $33.25 an hour with pay increases every 6 months. For the night shift, there is a $1/hr night shift premium.
