  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic instruments.
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial facilities including office buildings, retail centres, hotels, and more. This position performs electrical work independently while ensuring compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, project specifications, and company standards. Hourly pay starting at $26-$29 based on experience and skill.

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to work independently while maintaining commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. This position may also provide guidance and support to apprentices and electrical helpers while working collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, customers, and other trades.

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, equipment, controls, and components.
  • Pull wire, bend conduit, install electrical boxes, and perform various electrical tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment and diagnostic instruments.
  • Inspect electrical systems to identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Test electrical systems to verify compliance with applicable codes and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, materials used, and testing results.
  • Follow National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and customer requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, and functional testing of electrical systems.
  • Mentor apprentices and electrical helpers as needed.
  • Travel to project locations as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and customer site requirements.
  • 3-5 years of commercial, industrial, or construction electrical experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician licence or equivalent certification preferred where applicable.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
