Job summary

Epia Neuro is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to support verification of next‑generation implantable and external neurotechnology systems. You will design verification plans, develop test methods, and execute electrical verification testing for safety and reliability across implantable and wearable devices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience developing electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronics.
  • Hands‑on experience debugging electronic hardware in a laboratory environment.
  • Experience developing verification protocols, reports, and electrical test methods.
  • Experience designing custom test fixtures, interface boards, or test PCBAs.
  • Proficiency using Altium Designer (or equivalent).
  • Experience using lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, loads).
  • Experience in FDA Design Controls/ISO 13485 or other regulated environments.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW for test automation or data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design verification plans, protocols, acceptance criteria, reports, and traceability documentation.
  • Develop electrical test methods compliant with medical device standards.
  • Execute electrical verification testing (functional, performance, environmental, reliability, safety).
  • Analyze verification data, identify failure modes, and recommend design improvements.
  • Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
  • Support design validation activities and regulatory submissions.
  • Design and develop custom electrical test fixtures, interface boards, breakout boards, and test PCBAs.
  • Build, assemble, and debug prototype test hardware.
  • Develop electrical test systems to improve efficiency, repeatability, and reliability.
  • Support automation of electrical testing via scripting and tools.
  • Perform hands‑on testing with lab equipment and debug prototype hardware.
  • Document test results and communicate findings to cross‑functional teams.
  • Support prototype builds, evaluations, and product characterization.
  • Collaborate with Hardware Eng to improve performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
