Job summary

Intuitive Machines, LLC seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer for the Palo Alto, CA office to join the Electrical Vehicle Engineering (EVE) team. You will lead an electrical team, support integration and testing of flight-critical electrical systems, wire harnesses, and avionics for spacecraft.

You will define test environments, coordinate with EAGE, and drive test campaigns across multiple shifts 7 days a week, ensuring vehicle system functionality and flight readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics/aerospace engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience; Master’s degree counts as 2 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident; ability to vary work shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Test Environment Definition: analyze test equipment needs and coordinate with EAGE to design and set up test hardware; prepare test/diagnostic programs and procedures.
  • Scheduling/Tasking: meet daily with spacecraft team to plan electrical testing and maintain task logs; provide leadership to the electrical test team for 3 shifts, 7 days a week.
  • System Integration: assist electrical integration of spacecraft subsystems, ensuring clean connectivity and power distribution; manage command and data handling operations.
  • Test Definition: design and implement cost-effective testing and debugging methods; maintain wiring diagrams, schematics, and test procedures.
  • Test Execution & Verification: support functional and environmental testing campaigns (TVAC, Vibration, Acoustics, EMC); review tests during Build; travel for final checkout.
  • Anomaly Resolution: provide first-line debugging of non-conformances; coordinate with SMEs to resolve anomalies.

Job description

Intuitive Machines is currently seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented engineer to join our Electrical Vehicle Engineering (EVE) team in our Palo Alto, CA office 5 days a week. In this role you will be supporting the integration and testing of flight-critical electrical systems, wire harnesses, and avionics components for advanced spacecraft. You will be leading an electrical team and working with senior engineering staff to play a hands-on role in ensuring vehicle system functionality and flight readiness.**Responsibilities:*** **Test Environment Definition:** Perform analysis of test equipment requirements and coordinate with the Electrical Aerospace Ground Equipment (EAGE) team to ensure the proper design and setup of all relevant test hardware. Prepare test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Review scripts from the Front-End Engineering and Development (FED) team to ensure the safe execution of commands to verify bus test requirements. Evaluate and recommend the purchase of test equipment.* **Scheduling/Tasking:** Meet with the spacecraft team daily to determine electrical testing to be performed while optimizing the overall schedule. Generate task logs to communicate authorization of tasks to be performed by the electrical team. Provide leadership to the electrical test team for 3 shift, 7 days-per-week operations.* **System Integration:** Assist in the electrical integration of spacecraft subsystems, ensuring clean connectivity, power distribution, and command and data handling operations.* **Test Definition:** Design, develop, and implement cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing. Draft, update, and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including wiring interconnect diagrams, electrical schematics, and step-by-step test procedures. Ensure that all documentation complies with spacecraft test requirements.* **Test Execution & Verification:** Support the execution of functional and environmental testing campaigns, including Thermal Vacuum (TVAC), Vibration, Acoustics and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing. Provide initial review of all tests run during spacecraft Build process. Travel to the Launch Base to perform final checkout of the spacecraft prior to launch.* **Anomaly Resolution:** Provide first-line debugging of all electrical non-conformances and test anomalies and then coordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve all electrical anomalies discovered during testing. Exercise good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.**Minimum Requirements*** Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident* Bachelor's degree in an electrical, electronics, aerospace engineering or related discipline. Four years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree* Minimum of 5 years of related experience, a Master’s degree will count as 2 years of experience.* Ability to various work shifts as business needs require.* Proficiency in MS Office**Preferred Requirements*** **General:** + Strong verbal & written communication, organization, and leadership skills + Ability to work in a collaborative team + Hardware and Software debugging and troubleshooting skills* **Familiarity with Electrical Hardware:** + Basic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-Meters (DMMs) and function generators + Understanding of mathematics, physics, materials and chemistry as they relate to electrical circuits* **Familiarity with Spacecraft Architecture:** + Familiarity with satellite design and testing obtained through educational training and/or on-the-job experience in a related field. + Familiarity with satellite command and telemetry.In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.● The base pay for this position within California is: $104,000.00 - $173,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
