Job summary

  • Teach electrical safety practices including LOTO and NFPA 70E.
  • Onboard and train new hires on Starlink user terminals.
  • Maintain training documents and SOPs within qualification systems.

ELECTRICAL TRAINING SPECIALIST (STARLINK)

An Electrical Training Specialist is driven by the fundamental belief that education and knowledge are power, but a SpaceX Electrical Training Specialist combines that belief with a strong sense of urgency, creativity, and resourcefulness and thrives on opportunities for hands‑on application. The ideal candidate brings applicable industry experience to the table and will be armed with strong communication skills and an innovative problem‑solving ability. They must be able to thrive in a hands‑on environment and will spend time in the office, on the factory floor, and in the classroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and deliver training instructions using manufacturing planning‑based applications
  • Steer the introduction of all forms of training documentation used by production and engineering for on‑the‑job training
  • Lead implementation of qualification‑based authority training initiatives to accomplish training & certification verification
  • Lead new course & new course content development, including the ability to build new training courses that align with engineering specifications
  • Ensure new/underdeveloped process skills are identified proactively and training is delivered where increased skill proficiency will measurably reduce risk
  • Create course materials, such as PowerPoints, student handouts, and tests for instructor‑led programs with student assessments. This includes maintaining/revising existing material
  • Lead training modules (classroom and online) for SpaceX personnel on a variety of technical topics
  • Develop process specifications and research on new technologies
  • Engage production management, engineering, quality, and subject matter experts to gather required technical information on complex manufacturing processes and technologies
  • Monitor human error trends as a result of training to assess training impacts and provide solutions to demonstrate a downward trend
  • Teach electrical safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash awareness, NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices
  • Onboard and train new hires. Set up initial trainings and familiar them with Starlink user terminal
  • Maintain training documents and SOP's within the Personnel Qualifications systems
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of work experience and increasing responsibility in training coordination, project coordination, and/or learning and development
  • NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace) knowledge or certification
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training
  • Experience with 480/277 volt and 208/120 volt systems
  • Fire systems knowledge with NICET certification
  • Experience with industrial, commercial, or aerospace/electrical systems is a plus depending on the industry
  • Prior NCCER credentials (Instructor/Proctor/Coordinator)
  • Training experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Skills to independently analyze, review, and research manufacturing processes and applicable standards
  • Excellent oral and written training/communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate an in‑depth understanding of manufacturing processes and machine operation
  • Demonstrated experience as a team‑oriented self‑starter, eager to meet and exceed objectives, with the ability to handle a multi‑project environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience with computer‑based learning management systems
  • Experience with design tools commonly used in a learning creation environment (MS PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline)
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in both written and oral formats
  • Open collaborative style; ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously with minimal supervision or direction
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management
  • Journeyman or Master Electrician license
  • Relevant teaching/training credentials (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer, adult education certificate)
  • Manufacturer‑specific or industry certifications (e.g., PLC, motor controls, high‑voltage systems) as applicable
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), electrical theory, wiring methods, troubleshooting, and safety standards
  • Ability to develop and deliver training materials (lesson plans, presentations, hands‑on labs, assessments)
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles
  • Proficiency with common tools, multimeters, and basic computer applications (PowerPoint, LMS platforms, etc.)
