Job Summary:

Perform field testing of circuit breakers, transformers, medium-voltage cables, pressure switches, relays, and switchgear.

Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience performing primary & secondary injection testing, transformer testing & oil sampling, MV VLF Tan Delta testing, and infrared thermography. Experience as an electrician or maintenance technician does not qualify as electrical testing experience.
• Familiarity with NETA and/or NICET power systems testing requirements is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• This position is represented by Local Electrical Union 124. Applicants must meet their requirements. Those not currently IBEW members are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 8,000 hours of documented electrical testing experience may qualify for entry as a journeyman; others will enter as trainees based on documented experience.
• Other requirements include:
• Primarily work in Kansas City Metro Area, with willingness to travel nationally.
• Pass a drug screening.
• Obtain DOT certification to tow trailers.
• Pass a motor vehicle record check and meet company standards to operate a vehicle on company business. Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid driver’s license.
