Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an Electrical Test Technician to join the Hardware Platform Organization in our R&D lab. You will own the design and build of custom test racks and fixtures and fabricate mil-spec cable harnesses to support fast-paced hardware development.

You will work with electrical engineers to bring new hardware from prototype to test, perform/ document electrical tests, and ensure compliance with IPC-620 and IPC-610 standards while applying fault analysis and repair skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on experience building custom electrical test racks, fixtures, or cable harnesses in an R&D/defense environment.
• Demonstrated fabrication experience with mil-spec circular connectors (D38999, Mighty Mouse, Glenair, Amphenol).
• IPC-620 certification (CIS or CIT) and ability to recertify on hire.
• J-STD-001 soldering certification and ability to recertify on hire.
• Proficiency configuring oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and DMMs.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs with incomplete documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and build custom electrical test racks, fixtures, and GSE from engineering drawings, BOMs, and minimal instructions.
• Fabricate and terminate cable harnesses to IPC-620 Class 3 standards using mil-spec connectors including D38999, Mighty Mouse, Glenair, Amphenol, micro-D, and coaxial/RF assemblies; perform backshell integration, band-it clamping, and EMI shielding termination.
• Set up, execute, and document electrical test procedures including continuity, hi-pot, insulation resistance, and functional validation; record findings in test records and communicate issues to engineering.
• Operate and configure bench test equipment oscilloscopes (including triggering and signal acquisition), power supplies, electronic loads, function generators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and DAQ systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical assemblies and systems to the component level using systematic root cause analysis; drive issues to resolution independently or with engineers.
• Perform PCBA rework and repair to IPC-610 standards, including SMT and through-hole components.
• Work directly with electrical engineers to interpret drawings, redline documentation, flag design or BOM discrepancies, and propose build solutions including from in-progress or incomplete work instructions.
• Support setup, execution, and troubleshooting of EMI/EMC test configurations per MIL-STD-461 and RTCA DO-160

We build the shared technologies, tools, and infrastructure that power hardware development across every Anduril division, from actuators and propulsion to batteries, avionics, rocket motors, and test operations. Our teams set engineering standards, run development manufacturing and test sites, and develop core technology products that ship across multiple product lines.

ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for an Electrical Test Technician to join the Hardware Engineering Services team within Anduril's Hardware Platform Organization. You will be embedded in a fast-paced R&D lab building the test infrastructure and cable harnesses that support hardware development across Anduril's defense products. This is a hands-on, build-first role. You'll own custom test rack and fixture builds from scratch, fabricate mil-spec cable harnesses, and work directly with electrical engineers to bring new hardware from prototype to test.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and build custom electrical test racks, test fixtures, and ground support equipment (GSE) from engineering drawings, BOMs, and minimal instructions often as the first article in a fast-changing R&D environment
• Fabricate and terminate cable harnesses to IPC-620 Class 3 standards using mil-spec connectors including D38999, Mighty Mouse (Glenair), Amphenol, micro-D, and coaxial/RF assemblies; perform backshell integration, band-it clamping, and EMI shielding termination
• Set up, execute, and document electrical test procedures including continuity, hi-pot, insulation resistance, and functional validation; record findings in test records and communicate issues to engineering
• Operate and configure bench test equipment oscilloscopes (including triggering and signal acquisition), power supplies, electronic loads, function generators, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and DAQ systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building custom electrical test racks, test fixtures, or cable harnesses in an R&D, prototype, or aerospace/defense environment production-line assembly experience alone does not meet this requirement
• Demonstrated fabrication experience with mil-spec circular connectors specifically D38999, Mighty Mouse, Glenair, Amphenol, or equivalent including crimping, insertion/extraction tooling, backshell integration, and band-it clamping for EMI shielding
• Current or previously held IPC-620 certification (CIS or CIT); must be able to recertify upon hire
• Current or previously held J-STD-001 soldering certification; must be able to recertify upon hire
• Proficiency configuring and operating oscilloscopes including triggering modes, vertical/horizontal scaling, and signal acquisition as well as power supplies, electronic loads, and DMMs
• Ability to read and build from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs with incomplete or in-progress documentation; proactively identifies and escalates discrepancies before building
• U.S. Person status required as this position needs to access export-controlled data
• Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs unassisted

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• IPC-620 space addendum certification (CIS-S or CIT-S) and/or current IPC-610 PCBA inspection certification
• SMT and through-hole PCBA rework experience including IC-level components (QFN, QFP, BGA) under microscope
• Experience with EMI/EMC testing and MIL-STD-461 test setup, including CE102, CS114, RE102, and RS103 configurations
• Background in aerospace, defense, or satellite systems environments (e.g., SpaceX, Northrop Grumman, Boeing, Raytheon, Rocket Lab, SAIC, Shield AI, or equivalent)
• Experience building RF/coaxial cable assemblies including layer-by-layer prep and impedance-controlled terminations
• Familiarity with test automation, data acquisition scripting, or automated EMC software (TILE, Elektra, EMC32, or equivalent)

US Salary Range

$37.02 - $49.04 USD
