Job summary

Siemens is seeking an Electrical Test Technician for our new Fort Worth, TX site, with flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. You will test and inspect low-voltage switchgear and switchboards, verify power readings with a multimeter, and use specialized Siemens software to ensure accurate wiring and operation.

The role requires a High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years’ exposure to electrical components, with strong problem‑solving, reading technical drawings, and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality of high‑end custom and sophisticated products; test and inspect Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards to standards (UL1558, UL891, IEEE).
• Use multimeter and electrical theory to verify power readings and circuit design for correct wiring and operation.
• Utilize Hipot, test cards, hand tools and other equipment to aid testing.
• Operate specialized software for testing/inspecting when required (Siemens WinPM, Step 7, MicroWin, WinC Flexible, SAP).
• Perform inspections/audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Maintain and input records or reports related to testing/inspecting activities.

The Electrical Products (EP) Business Unit offers a full range of low-voltage power distribution and control products that deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial markets.

We are looking for an Electrical Test Technician, which must be flexible to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, to join our team! This position will be based at our new Fort Worth, TX site.

You’ll make a difference by:

• Maintaining quality of high custom and sophisticated products for Electrical Products; testing and inspecting Low Voltage Switchgear and Switchboards to applicable standards (i.e. UL1558, UL891, IEEE, etc)
• Use multi meter and electronic theory to verify power readings and circuit design to ensure accurate wiring and operation.
• Use Hipot, test card, hand tools and various other tools to aid in testing.
• Use specialized software for testing/inspecting when required (i.e. Siemens WinPM, Step 7, MicroWin, WinC Flexible, SAP, etc.)
• Perform inspections/audits of mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Maintain and input records or reports related to testing/inspecting activities.

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2+ years exposure to electrical components or knowledge of electrical components.
• Ability/Experience testing and fixing; strong problem solving.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate Degree.
• 2+ years in capacity of engineering or quality functions for power distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of prevailing codes (UL1558, UL891, UL508).
• Knowledge of power distribution components (breakers, relays, communication devices).
