What You Will Do

Join our Test Solutions Engineering team within the Hardware Discipline Center at Raytheon, where you will be at the heart of hardware innovation developing cutting‑edge electrical solutions for mission‑critical defense systems. In this role, you will have a hands‑on opportunity to design, build, and integrate state‑of‑the‑art electrical test systems supporting complex defense products across their entire lifecycle—from high‑tech engineering development labs to factory production, field operations, and long‑term sustainment. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team, you will ensure our test equipment meets the highest technical, performance, and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and integrate specialized electrical test products, interface adapters, cabling, and custom test fixtures for complex defense systems.
  • Develop detailed schematics, circuit board layouts, and electrical engineering documentation adhering to rigorous industry and defense standards.
  • Validate and characterize hardware performance utilizing advanced laboratory test equipment, including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power meters.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex electrical anomalies and hardware integration issues across development and production environments.
  • Support project execution by ensuring test system designs meet established technical performance, schedule, and budgetary commitments.
  • Collaborate closely with systems, mechanical, software, and reliability engineers to deliver robust, integrated test architectures.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Degree must be obtained by start date.
  • Experience selecting, calculating values for, and integrating passive and active electronic components (such as resistors, capacitors, diodes, and transistors) within analog or digital circuit designs.
  • Experience operating laboratory test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, waveform/function generators, spectrum analyzers, or network analyzers) to test hardware, interface with sensors, or measure electrical signals.
  • Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, labs or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from an ABET‑accredited institution.
  • Experience with circuit design, schematic capture, and simulation tools (such as PSPICE, LTspice, or Keysight ADS) for analog, digital, or mixed‑signal applications.
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (such as Python, C/C++, or MATLAB) for test automation, data acquisition, and instrumentation control.
  • Experience creating formal engineering documentation, technical specifications, and delivering presentations to technical peers.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis skills in a laboratory or hardware development setting.
