Job summary

Vicor Corporation is seeking a skilled engineer to contribute under supervision of senior engineers, assisting in the design, development and qualification of power supply products. You will perform evaluations, generate reports, and collaborate across internal teams to resolve product-related issues.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, schematic understanding, PCB familiarity, and proficiency with test equipment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of position related experience.
• Strong knowledge of Analog or Power electronics circuits.
• Proficient with standard electronic lab equipment: oscilloscopes, multi-meters, electronic loads, and power supplies.
• Strong understanding of schematics, PCB layouts, circuit simulation, assembly drawings and test specifications.
• Knowledge of component types and ratings. Understand voltage, power and current relationships, simple op amp theory, and transistor operation.
• Excellent soldering and circuit prototyping skills.
• Basic programming/scripting experience is a plus.
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
• Ability to understand and follow-through on both verbal and written instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills involving ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
• Good computer skills, including the ability to access and utilize information from existing data base systems.

Responsibilities

• Working under supervision from Engineers to perform a variety of complex and specialized tasks.
• Support Design Engineers with the design and development of new power supply products as well as the support of existing products.
• Perform evaluations, qualifications and testing on these products.
• Responsible for generating test reports and documentation packages for all new products.
• Be able to interface with internal organizations regarding product related issues
