Electrical Technician

ABOUT THE POSITION

Under supervision, the Electrical Technician is responsible for assembling, evaluating, troubleshooting, and correcting deficiencies in products to meet specifications. The technician must ensure work complies with relevant codes and be capable of working with energized equipment, performing tests, and de-energizing equipment safely when necessary.

Key Deliverables

  1. Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
  2. Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment.
  3. Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
  4. Read and interpret electrical blueprints and diagrams.
  5. Perform preventative maintenance regularly.

Key Activities & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate Astec processes across manufacturing electrical departments, including panel room, construction, and industrial manufacturing.
  • Test and troubleshoot heaters to ensure readiness before shipping.
  • Correct issues and retest to verify successful resolution.
  • Communicate with electrical engineering for process improvements.
  • Monitor quality concerns and advise on postponement of shipments if necessary.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or skilled trades training preferred.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; troubleshooting experience is essential.
