Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Allen Park, MI is seeking an Electrical Technician Senior to build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and benches. You will follow blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs to set up quality checks and mentor teammates to meet standards.

The role requires strong automotive electrical experience, hands-on tooling skills, and the ability to lead daily shop activities while ensuring safety and quality. Immediate start date with 6-month duration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 8 years of electrical work experience.
• Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related preferred.
• ASE Certification(s) preferred.
• Valid driver&39;s license preferred.
• Experience installing components on circuit boards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, test, and calibrate wiring using blueprints and schematics.
• Install lights, brackets and electrical hardware on test boxes and vehicles.
• Test wiring and components for proper operation with diagnostic equipment.
• Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle; crimp and solder.
• Maintain shop equipment and troubleshoot breakdowns; perform preventive maintenance.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members; act as SME for technical Deliverables.
• Lead daily shop organization and cleanup.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Technician Senior will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and the bench. The role will follow instructions as provided through blueprints, bill of materials, schematics, or piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID). The role will follow procedures to set up and run quality checks on various wiring harnesses. The Electrical Technician Senior will mentor and oversee team member"s technical deliverables to ensure Client and customer standards are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assemble, installs, perform functional and safety tests, reverse engineer, and calibrate tools for wiring and components using hand tools and proper assembly techniques by following work instructions (prints, cut sheets, sample harnesses).
• Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to special test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles according to specifications.
• Tests wiring and components for correct operation using a schematic and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminal, create basic schematics and reverse engineer harnesses.
• Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs.
• Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team.
• Lead daily shop organization and clean-up.

Education and Experience (required):

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of electrical work experience.

Education and Experience (preferred):

• Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related.
• National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
• Valid driver"s license.
• Experience installing components on circuit boards.
• Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):

• Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, component materials & fasteners.
• Mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of automotive systems with ability to crimp and solder wires. Proficient with hand and power tools. Able to operate vehicle lifts.
• Proficient electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills and ability to understand electronic schematics and electronic part documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
