Job summary

AIM in Manassas, VA seeks an Electrical Technician Instructor to teach electrical theory, wiring methods, safety practices and lab activities to aspiring technicians. The role emphasizes real-world experience, student mentorship, and transitioning skilled trades professionals into teaching careers.

You will deliver both classroom and hands-on sessions, maintain up-to-date lesson plans, ensure OSHA-compliant labs, and collaborate with program leadership to support student success and program

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years hands-on electrical trade experience or 3 years teaching electrical programs.
• Strong understanding of electrical tools, systems, codes, and safety practices.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom and hands-on lab instruction on electrical systems, safety, and codes.
• Align teaching with industry standards and workforce expectations.
• Instruct proper tool, material, and equipment use with OSHA safety emphasis.
• Create a positive, engaging learning environment for students.
• Maintain lesson plans and lab activities with program leadership.
• Track attendance, progress, and grading in school systems.
• Ensure classrooms and labs are clean, safe, and well equipped.
• Mentor students and support their success and retention.
• Participate in trainings, in-service sessions, and meetings.
• Stay current on industry advancements and required certifications.
• Comply with institutional policies and accreditation standards.
