Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an Electrical Technician for a renewable energy operation near Ely. The role is outdoors, days-only, four-on, four-off shifts from 6am to 6pm with overtime.

You will maintain electrical systems across plants turning waste into energy, performing maintenance, fault-finding, installations and testing in all weathers. The role emphasizes practical problem-solving, with full PPE provided, a company vehicle for site travel, and on-site training in renewable technologies.

Formación

• Industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience of electrical breakdown repair, maintenance and installation.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostics skills.
• Experience of control panel modification, three-phase systems and safety circuits.
• Experience of motor testing, inverter drives and 4-20mA signals.

Responsabilidades

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with maintenance schedules.
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults across site systems and equipment.
• Performing electrical repairs, installations, inspections and testing to a high standard.
• Modifying and maintaining control panels.
• Supporting breakdown investigations and returning equipment to service quickly and safely.
• Working on motors, drives, instrumentation, control systems and process equipment.
• Fault-finding on three-phase electrical systems and safety circuits.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records using company logging systems.
• Supporting mechanical maintenance activities where required.
• Working outdoors and at height across operational plant areas, in all weather conditions.

Electrical Technician

This is an Electrical Technician role with a growing renewable energy business near Ely, on a days‑only four‑on, four‑off shift pattern. As an Electrical Technician you will maintain and improve the electrical systems that keep a growing renewable energy operation running safely and efficiently, working on the plants that turn organic waste into clean energy. It is a highly varied, hands‑on role, from planned preventative maintenance and fault‑finding through to installations, testing, inspections and breakdown response. Be clear on one thing: this is not a desk job. Up to 90% of your time will be spent outdoors across operational plant areas, often at height and in all weathers. Skills and Experience

• Industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience
• Experience of electrical breakdown repair, maintenance and installation
• Strong electrical fault‑finding and diagnostics skills
• Experience of control panel modification, three‑phase systems and safety circuits
• Experience of motor testing, inverter drives and 4-20mA instrumentation and control signals
• Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working around plant machinery
• A full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK

Desirable

• PLC and I/O fault‑finding, SCADA and industrial networks experience is desirable
• An HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and City & Guilds 2391 or 2392 is desirable
• A 16th, 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification, which is desirable

Pay and Benefits

• A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience
• A days‑only, four‑on, four‑off, 12‑hour shift pattern with overtime available
• 6am to 6pm
