Job summary

Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking a Technician III to calibrate, set up and operate sophisticated measurement devices and test equipment for engineering projects.

You will document objectives, procedures and results, analyze data, and prepare recommendations. You may fabricate prototype components for testing and support design validation. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to share findings with engineers and project stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Associates in a Technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience working with small/large engines, engine powered equipment or related products.
  • Ability to set up, calibrate and use sophisticated measurement devices and test equipment.
  • Understanding of a specialized technical area.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex engineering software.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of non-routine assignments of moderate complexity, including various engineering tests using sophisticated measurement devices and test equipment.
  • Fabricates prototype components and/or assemblies for product testing.
  • Documents all aspects of tests including objectives, procedures, results, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Compiles and computes a variety of engineering data; analyzes test and design data and prepares reports.
  • Analyzes problems and recommends solutions; expedites prototype parts or assemblies.
  • Develops, prepares and makes recommendations for schematics, designs, test procedures and/or specifications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
