Job description

Join a dedicated team in Dallas, TX as an Electrical Technician II, where you will play a key role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and certification of battery systems for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems. This position offers hands‑on experience with critical power infrastructure, opportunities for skill development, and the chance to work in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities
  • Assist with battery replacements and new installations for UPS systems.
  • Support preventative and scheduled maintenance of battery systems with minimal disruption to customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site during all phases of work.
  • Follow operational, maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Interact professionally with internal teams and external customers.
  • Utilize hand tools and general maintenance equipment as required.
  • Assist in the warehouse and support other service divisions (Switch Gear, Operations, HVAC) as needed.
  • Work from schematic diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions.
  • Learn and perform tasks such as disconnecting and connecting sealed batteries, building battery racks, and installing batteries in critical spaces.
  • Enter test readings and maintenance data into reporting formats using a laptop computer.
  • Gain experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on DC battery systems with increasing independence.
  • Travel approximately 50% or more to customer sites as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Services Management.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of or willingness to learn AC/DC theory, electronic components, and circuitry.
  • Ability to safely operate department equipment and use hand tools.
  • Familiarity with or ability to learn the use of digital multimeters, amp clamps, flexible CTs, and battery testing equipment.
  • Understanding of isolation devices, arc‑flash PPE, and safety procedures.
  • Competency in connecting battery strings (series, parallel, series‑parallel) and understanding torque values and visual inspections.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Completion of OSHA 10‑hour certification and NFPA‑70E Safety Training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to travel as required for the role.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
