Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an Electrical Technician to perform maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on rental equipment in a safe, professional manner. You will support the Service Department and help customers understand equipment operation.

Responsibilities include pre/post-use checks, load/unload tasks, and assisting senior technicians. A valid driver's license and own tools are required. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.
• Basic verbal and written skills.
• Basic electrical aptitude expected.
• Must own tools applicable to this position and have a working knowledge of tools.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
• Ability to understand the rental cycle.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use for damage, condition, and safety compliance.
• Report machine condition to the counter person or Service Manager for billing.
• Load and unload equipment complying with DOT height, width, and weight restrictions.
• Clean equipment and prepare for new rentals or sale.
• Demonstrate proper use and familiarize customers with equipment.
• Perform minor repairs on rental equipment and tools safely.
• Assist higher-level technicians as needed.
• Assist in pickup/delivery of equipment and parts to/from other United Rentals locations.
• Other duties as assigned.
