Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World seeks an experienced maintenance technician to manage plant instrumentation, control systems and electrical equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and document activities, ensuring safe operation and minimal downtime.

This role requires 3–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED plus trade training or apprenticeship, and the ability to work a 7am–7pm Pitman shift with occasional overtime. Journeyman Electrician preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of instrumentation/electronic/electrical experience.
• Experience programming and/or PLC operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant instrumentation, control and electrical systems.
• Install, calibrate, document and repair equipment with safety requirements.
• Read and interpret manuals, drawings and MSDS; maintain logs and maintenance systems.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas; work in extreme environments; overtime as needed.

Summary

This position is responsible for Plant instrumentation, control systems, and electrical/electronic equipment, as well as other associated equipment. The individual in this position must be capable of troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, programming, documenting, upgrading, and the laying out and installing of equipment and systems.

• The individual in this position must possess a working knowledge of electricity, electronics, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Perform electronic, electrical, instrumentation and control systems, which includes installations, calibrations, maintenance, documentation, and repairs.
• The knowledge of this position is equipment specific and assists in avoiding unnecessary process interruptions or downtime.
• This individual must have a working knowledge of safe work practices, plant equipment, trouble shooting and repair procedures, and equipment installation under the supervision of the Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Supervisors, and other members of management.
• Technician will ensure production equipment is properly configured and set to desired controls to assist with meeting desired operational efficiencies and goals.
• The area of work includes inside the facility and outside, depending on work requirements.
• Weekend and overtime work in this position is common and may be required to meet operational goals.
• This position requires the ability to work in extreme environments of both hot and cold.
• Must be able to read and interpret written instructions, manufacturers' manuals, material safety data sheets and engineering drawings.
• Must be able to use written logbooks, plant computer system, and maintenance work order and supply system.

Additional Information

• Typical Education
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Graduation from a technical trade and/or completion of an apprenticeship, certificate or associate degree program in a related field.
  • Journeyman Electrician Card holders, preference plus.
• Relevant Experience
  • 3- 5 years of instrumentation/electronic/electrical relevant experience.
  • Experience programming and/or PLC operations preferred.
• Shift: 7am - 7pm "Pitman Shift Style"
• Wage: $34.81 - $38.23 p/hr
