The City of Wauwatosa is seeking an Electrical Technician to maintain and repair street lighting and traffic signal systems. This role requires a high school diploma, three years of electrical experience, and a valid WI driver's license. The City of Wauwatosa Department of Public Works is hiring for an Electrical Technician! This position performs skilled electrical work that involves the maintenance, repair, and installation of street lighting systems, traffic signal systems, motors, controls, and other related electrical equipment.
The salary range is $34.94 - $44.65 per hour, with starting pay determined on qualifications and professional experience. We are also offering a sign on bonus of $2,500 for this Electrical Technician opening. Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, grip, feel, push and pull. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to or in excess of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Must possess ability to climb ladders, poles and towers, and work at great heights above ground and the physical stamina to perform sustained manual work for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Performing work at various heights above the ground.
