Job summary

FST Technical Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician for its Santa Clara, CA location. The role involves day-shift maintenance of electrical distribution systems, performing rounds, and reading drawings to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Responsibilities include repairing, maintaining, and updating procedures while collaborating with other technicians. NEC/NFPA standards apply; lifting 30 lbs several times daily is required; semiconductor/pharma experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Field experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of facilities equipment.
• Experience with electrical distribution up to 15 kV, switchgear, generators, and VFDs.
• Experience with metering and testing equipment including multimeter, ground fault detector, VLF, and IR camera; reading electrical diagrams.
• Familiarity with NEC 70, NFPA 70B, and NFPA 70E.
• Ability to lift 30 lb (≈14 kg) three times a day.
• Preference for semiconductor or pharmaceutical industries.

FST is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician in Santa Clara, CA.

Role: Electrical Technician

Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours shift, compressed work week schedule

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs, preventive and predictive maintenance of all the electrical distribution systems.
• Conduct daily rounds and readings.
• Work from drawings, schematics, and other electrical documentation.
• Collaborate with other discipline technicians to support mechanical and process equipment.
• Use and update electrical procedures for electrical maintenance and operation.

Experience / Requirements:

• Field experience within all aspects of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of facilities equipment and systems.
• Experience in a sustaining environment such as maintenance requirements for industrial electrical facility systems, such as electrical distribution (up to 15kv), switchgear, generators, and variable frequency drives.

• Experience with electrical metering and testing equipment including multi-meter, ground fault detector, VLF, and IR camera, reading single-line electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
• Experience covered by National Electrical Code (NEC70), Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance (NFPA 70B), and Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace (NFPA 70E).

• Lift 30 lbs 3 times a day on average.
• Preferred experience in Semiconductor or Pharmaceutical industries.
