Job summary

Outpostspace in Playa Vista, CA is seeking an Electrical Technician to build, install, and inspect wiring harnesses and electrical systems for our orbital return vehicles. This hands-on role operates on the factory floor from schematics and work instructions, collaborating with avionics engineers and the integration and test team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of wiring harness experience, reads schematics, and can crimp, solder, and fabricate cables while maintaining safety and quality on

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • 5+ years hands-on experience in electrical assembly, wiring harness fabrication, or systems integration.
  • Proficient reading of electrical schematics and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
  • Experience with crimping, soldering, and cable/harness fabrication.
  • Familiarity with multimeters and oscilloscopes as basic test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to work on your feet in a factory/lab environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, install, and inspect wiring harnesses and electrical systems for the return vehicle.
  • Support avionics integration, including connector mating, continuity checks, and cable routing.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and schematics to build flight hardware.
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting during integration and test.
  • Support test campaigns, including instrumentation setup.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Document work performed and flag discrepancies to engineering.

Job description

Electrical Technician

Location: Playa Vista, California (in‑person, five days per week)

Outpost is pioneering Earth return logistics for space. We're building vehicles that can return payloads from orbit safely and precisely enabling faster space-based manufacturing, global delivery, and entirely new capabilities in the space economy. The Team

We're looking for an Electrical Technician to build the wiring harnesses and electrical systems that connect Outpost's return vehicles. This is a hands‑on role on the machine shop floor, working from schematics and work instructions to fabricate, install, and inspect flight hardware. You'll work closely with avionics engineers and the integration and test team, supporting everything from harness fabrication to instrumentation during test campaigns.

Compensation
