Job summary

ASR Group in Crockett, CA is seeking an Electrical Technician to maintain electrical equipment for safe, reliable refinery operations. You will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration across high- and medium-voltage systems, with emphasis on PLCs and instrumentation.

Must be a Journeyman Electrician or have a two-year cert, with 5+ years in industrial settings. Overtime, union environment, and PPE are required in this role.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Electrician status or completion of a two-year electrician certification program is required.
• At least five years of experience in industrial electrical applications preferred.
• Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts, holidays and weekends.
• Must wear PPE and work in refinery environments.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting and installation per safety procedures.
• Work on controls and circuits at 110 V, 440 V, and 4,160 V.
• Repair instrumentation in solids and liquids applications and related components.
• Install and calibrate process-control instrumentation with PLC systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and conveyor systems.
• Conduct scheduled electrical preventive maintenance and document work.
• Plan and schedule maintenance with supervision and operations input.
• Maintain 460 V motors, motor controls and VFDs.
• Read and update blueprints, P&IDs, ladder logic and wiring diagrams.

OVERVIEW

Under the direction oftheMaintenance Supervisor, the Electrical Technician maintains electrical equipment inthe assigned areato ensure safe, reliable, andoptimal operation.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform all electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation work in accordance with applicable safety procedures and required protective practices
• Work on electrical controls and circuits rated at 110 V, 440 V, and 4,160 V.
• Repairinstrumentation used in solids and liquids applications, as well as load-side and line-side electrical componentsrated up to4,160 V.
• Install and calibrate process-control instrumentation integrated with PLC-based control systems
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled automated machinery and conveyor systems
• Perform scheduled electrical preventive maintenance activities and document the work completed
• Plan, prioritize, and schedule electrical maintenance with input from supervision and operations
• Maintain and troubleshoot 460 V motors, motor controls, and variable-frequency drives
• Read blueprints, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, ladder logic, and wiring schematics, and update these documents to accurately reflect completed changes
• Effectively use electrical, electronic, and pneumatic test and calibration equipment
• Use RTD, mA, and thermocouple calibrators; digital and analog multimeters; and laptops for equipment communication and troubleshooting
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical controls and instruments throughout the refinery
• Maintain and install new electrical equipment and rigid conduit
• Repair and troubleshoot analog instrument loops

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to regularly work overtime, rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
• Demonstrate personal accountability for individual safety and the safety of others
• Must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a unionized environment
• Ability to go up and down ladders and work in hot, sticky environment

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS and/or WORK EXPERIENCES

• Journeyman Electrician Status or completion of a two-year electrician certification program required
• At least five years of experience in industrial electrical applications preferred

PAY RATE:

$53.67 per hour
