Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Team Lead in Colorado to guide a team of up to 8 engineers, EITs, coordinators and designers. You will lead staffing, mentoring, and technical excellence within HDR’s Building Electrical group, coordinating with other discipline leads and project managers on key projects.

You’ll recruit and grow the electrical business class in Colorado while ensuring quality design, schedule, and client satisfaction for complex data center and commercial projects in the region.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with electrical focus.
Experience in developing and managing diverse teams.
Active engagement in professional and technical societies.
Local Colorado candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise a team of up to 8 electrical engineers, EITs, coordinators and designers.
Collaborate with discipline team leads and area lead for staffing and proposals.
Provide team leadership focused on technical excellence, recruiting, mentoring and staff development.
Serve as design lead or project manager for key projects.
Ensure work is planned, organized, controlled and coordinated with PMs.
Assist in recruitment and growth of the Colorado electrical business class.

In the role of Electrical Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to:

Assist the Electrical Area Business Class Lead with management and culture of the overall business class by being the direct supervisor of a team of up to 8 Electrical engineers, EITs, coordinators, and designers with varying degrees of experience
Work as a collaborative team with other discipline Team Leads and the Area Business Class Lead for work staffing and project proposals
Provide team leadership with a focus on technical excellence, quality, recruiting, mentoring, and staff development
Function as design lead or engineering project manager for key projects
Assist in ensuring all work is planned, organized, controlled, and coordinated with Project Managers
Assist the Area Electrical Business Class Lead in the recruitment and growth of the business class in Colorado
Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical focus
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
Active engagement in professional and technical societies
Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
A minimum of 7 years experience
Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
Strong communication and listening skills
Ability to handle multiple assignments
Good leadership and organizational skills
