Job summary

HDR invites an Electrical Team Lead to guide a skilled group of engineers and designers in Colorado. You will act as design lead or project manager on critical initiatives, driving technical excellence and team growth.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with other leads, and support staffing and proposals while ensuring quality and effective coordination with Project Managers across diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical focus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience.
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and lead teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of up to 8 Electrical engineers, EITs, coordinators and designers.
  • Collaborate with discipline Team Leads and Area Lead for staffing and proposals.
  • Provide team leadership with a focus on technical excellence, quality and staff development.
  • Serve as design lead or engineering project manager on key projects.
  • Coordinate work with Project Managers to ensure planning and control.
  • Assist in recruiting and growing the Colorado electrical business class.

In the role of Electrical Team Lead, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist the Electrical Area Business Class Lead with management and culture of the overall business class by being the direct supervisor of a team of up to 8 Electrical engineers, EITs, coordinators, and designers with varying degrees of experience
  • Work as a collaborative team with other discipline Team Leads and the Area Business Class Lead for work staffing and project proposals
  • Provide team leadership with a focus on technical excellence, quality, recruiting, mentoring, and staff development
  • Function as design lead or engineering project manager for key projects
  • Assist in ensuring all work is planned, organized, controlled, and coordinated with Project Managers
  • Assist the Area Electrical Business Class Lead in the recruitment and growth of the business class in Colorado
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical focus
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Active engagement in professional and technical societies
  • Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
