Job summary

Bauer Compressors in Norfolk, VA is seeking an Electrical Support Specialist to provide technical assistance to the Electrical Assembly Department Lead, increasing efficiency and throughput in production areas. You will program HMIs and PLCs, troubleshoot faults, read schematics with EPlan, audit BOMs, wire motor assemblies, and maintain UL records.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in electrical fields or 3+ years of related experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electrical field or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience reading engineering and electrical schematics.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize demands.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of electrical wiring and harnessing.
• Proficient reading blueprints and schematics for placement of parts.
• Proficient in reading standard measuring devices (tape measures, scales, etc).
• Proficient in safely operating overhead/jib crane.
• Able to identify and safely operate standard hand, power and air tools.
• Possess high quality standards.
• Adaptable to changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Program HMIs and PLCs based on required compressor unit specifications.
• Power up units and troubleshoot faults to ensure functionality.
• Use EPlan to create/update schematics.
• Audit BOM to ensure issued parts are with the job and in required quantity.
• Use M2M to research job order information.
• Maintain job paperwork, including orders and drawings.
• Use Vault to access assembly and schematic drawings.
• Analyze drawings to determine revisions and refer to engineering.
• Understand and use BOMAF and MPL processes.
• Wire motor assemblies.
• Measure, drill, cut, and wire electrical assemblies.
• Assemble harnesses and switches for orders.
• Maintain UL records.
