Job summary

St. Jude is seeking a Manager Electrical Systems Engineer to lead the operation, maintenance, and reliability of power infrastructure across our mission-critical facilities.

You will oversee emergency power, preventive maintenance, and upgrades to ensure continuous, safe operation. Responsibilities include managing substations, switchgear, feeders; leading maintenance programs; ensuring NEC/NFPA compliance; supervising staff and contractors; maintaining drawings/records; and on-call

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
• 5 years of progressive experience in electrical systems management.
• 2+ years of experience managing people as direct reports.
• Strong understanding of power distribution and electrical safety.
• Experience with healthcare, labs or data centers is a plus.
• PE license and CEM certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical utility distribution systems, including substations, switchgear, feeders, and related infrastructure.
• Ensure reliability of emergency power systems including generators, ATS, and UPS.
• Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Oversee uninterrupted operation of mission-critical facilities like hospitals and labs.
• Direct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for electrical failures.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, DNV, and state regulations.
• Manage capital projects and long-term infrastructure planning.
• Supervise internal staff and external contractors.
• Maintain single-line diagrams and maintenance records.
• Participate in on-call rotation and emergency response activities.
