Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Safety, Certification and Airworthiness (SCAW) is seeking a senior or principal Electrical Engineer to become a Unit Member (E-UM) / FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) to support teams across various locations including El Segundo, CA; Huntington Beach, CA; Mesa, AZ; Berkeley, MO; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; Huntsville, AL; Ridley Park, PA; and Oklahoma City, OK.

This role involves performing FAA compliance activities for CFR 14 Part 25 aircraft as part of Boeing's Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA), supporting Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) activities across multiple programs and sites.

Position Responsibilities
  • Lead certification planning, testing, and artifact analysis to ensure FAA compliance.
  • Provide SME support to electrical design programs and engineers.
  • Mentor and guide prospective Engineering Unit members.
  • Stay current with industry trends and methodologies.
  • Travel globally to supplier locations and Boeing sites approximately 25% of the time.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite at one of the listed locations.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; with 9+ years (Level 4) or 14+ years (Level 5) of experience depending on education level.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with Electrical System Design.
  • At least 3 years’ experience with FAA compliance activities.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 12+ years’ related experience or equivalent.
  • Active FAA DER or ODA Engineering Unit Member appointment.
  • 9+ years’ experience with Electrical System Design.
  • Experience mentoring engineers in certification processes.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
