Job summary

Siemens is seeking an Electrical Service Specialist to support our Lakewood, CO branch serving the Denver area. You will lead installation, testing, and commissioning of power distribution equipment, including MV/LV switchgear and protective relays, with initial four-month travel-based training.

Role requires 5+ years in electrical control circuits, switchboards, and power testing, plus certifications. Strong diagnostic skills, safety awareness, and ability to lift 75 pounds are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical control circuits.
• 5+ years of experience in installation/maintenance of Power Automation Switchboards.
• 5+ years of experience using electrical test sets for AC/DC high-potential testing, transformer turns ratio testing, and transformer power factor testing.
• Able to interpret protective coordination studies and test/ configure protective relays.
• Able to read bills of material, electrical blueprints, and power system study reports.
• Experience with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of low/medium voltage power distribution systems.
• Familiar with arc flash and shock hazards of 13.8 kV and Siemens GIS/AIS switchgear.
• Knowledge of ANSI, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and NETA codes and standards.
• Able to lift/move equipment up to 75 pounds.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must be 18+, hold a valid driver’s license with limited violations, and be legally eligible to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Lead basic to complex installation and checkout of electric components for systems and service jobs and service agreements.
• Set communication devices and topology industrial networks; upload HMI/PLC programs; install I/O and CPUs.
• Perform integration of 3rd party EPMS; initial testing, operation, troubleshooting and modification of customer equipment and systems.
• Test MV or LV circuit breakers; metal clad/vacuum switchgear; breakers or LV equipment and analyze results.
• Conduct Equipment Condition Assessments.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits.
• Organize and maintain job documentation and reports.
• Provide on-site assistance with programming, start-up, checkout, commissioning, and validation; train customer staff.
