Electrical Systems Design Engineer

The Electrical Systems Design Engineer is responsible for the development of electrical design solutions for complex industrial systems, supporting projects from the proposal phase through to final delivery, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the sales and proposal team during the bidding phase to identify the most suitable technical solutions.
  • Analyze customer specifications and develop solutions aligned with project requirements.
  • Estimate material costs and required labor resources for project execution.
  • Prepare technical documentation for the manufacturing of electrical equipment, integrating standard solutions with client‑specific requirements.
  • Develop and manage component lists (BOM) for design activities.
  • Prepare technical documentation for tenders and bids.
  • Produce final project documentation in accordance with project requirements and standards.
  • Ensure continuous coordination and alignment with other engineering disciplines, managing interfaces and integrated solutions.
  • Define and communicate project safety standards and requirements.
  • Promote reuse of existing solutions and best practices from previous projects.
  • Design electrical schematics, including process and safety circuits.
  • Develop cause–effect matrices (safety matrices) for the validation of safety functions at the customer site.
  • Perform Performance Level (PL) calculations for safety‑related systems.
  • Support the documentation team in the preparation of user manuals and technical documentation generated during the design phase.
Profile
  • Degree or diploma in a technical field (Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation).
  • Minimum of 3–4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge of European Directives and electrical standards (Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; EN ISO 13849‑1; EN ISO 60204‑1; EN ISO 12100).
  • Proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 (version 2.8).
  • Familiarity with SISTEMA tool for Performance Level (PL) calculations.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken (minimum B1 level).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
  • Strong personal skills: dynamism, precision, and problem‑solving attitude.
  • Availability for short national business trips and occasional travel abroad (Europe).
  • Knowledge of SAP for component list (BOM) management (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of EPDM for document management (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD for layout and technical drawings (nice to have).
