This role will report to Principal Electrical Engineer and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week. **Roles and Responsibilities:** • Assist senior engineers in the research, design, development and test of a variety of electrical systems used in distributed energy resources and microgrids. • Design subsystems in new product lines and suggest/make improvements to existing products under the direction of other senior engineers. • Provide technical support for existing products to analyze design and process related issues, production and field problems. • Carry out various test programs to evaluate performance of new and existing products. • Collaborate with cross-functional engineers to design new electrical products. • Perform root cause analysis testing on field returned components. • Implement design changes with manufacturing, installation, and field service teams. **Skills and Experience:** • BSEE in Electrical Engineering required, MSEE preferred. • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals. • Experience in electrical system product development. • Good analytical and problem solving skills. Critical thinking, being able to think “outside the box”. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with professionals at all levels of the company. • Thorough understanding of electrical power systems, power electronics, control systems is a plus. • Hands-on experience in laboratory environment or similar industry design experience is a plus. • Experience writing functional lab software tools with Python, C, LabView, or equivalent is a plus.Bloom Energy is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
