Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an Electrical System Integration Engineer within the Large Power Systems Division to design and integrate electrical and mechanical systems for diesel, natural gas, and alternative fuel engines.

You will work with global teams and suppliers to move projects from concept to commissioning. You will calibrate ECUs, validate software, and support production while traveling to customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering field, or CS.
• Experience designing electrical/mechanical systems for engines.
• Ability to collaborate with embedded software teams.
• Willingness to travel for commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical and mechanical systems for engines and electrification products.
• Define electrical interfaces and protocols for customer control systems.
• Collaborate with embedded software developers.
• Validate software against requirements.
• Calibrate ECUs in real-time on engines and simulators.
• Support production facilities and occasional customer travel.
