This role manages the auditing of incoming fabricated and purchased materials to ensure compliance for UL891, UL1558 Low Voltage systems, and E348856 Medium Voltage systems, as well as associated control and relay cabinets.
This role coordinates the activities of assembly employees, ensuring that production goals are met safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with electrical quality standards. The Supervisor is a hands‑on leader who drives productivity, maintains high workmanship standards (including torque and clearance requirements), and supports continuous improvement initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing

- Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data (types, quantities, specifications) and scheduled delivery dates to plan assembly operations, establishing priorities and sequences.
- Prepare assembly schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality meet specifications.
- Review production and operating reports, resolve operational manufacturing issues to minimize costs and prevent delays.
- Inspect equipment to ensure optimal operational performance, set up work cells for maximum efficiency, and adjust work cells to accommodate staff fluctuations.
- Analyze electrical schematics, one‑line diagrams, BOMs, and production schedules to determine assembly sequencing.
- Track labor hours and production output, hold team members accountable to time‑per‑operation and performance expectations.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and resolve interpersonal conflicts to maintain a positive work environment.
- Provide effective training and mentorship on wiring techniques, spacing requirements, hardware stack‑ups, busbar handling, torquing, component layout, and UL compliance.
- Coordinate with lead personnel to ensure seamless transitions between mechanical assembly and electrical wiring phases.
- Maintain clear inter‑departmental communication to support production operations, testing and qualification evolutions, and shipping of customer products.
What You’ll Have
- Electrical Technology degree or journey‑level experience with 5+ years in electrical manufacturing/switchgear assembly and prior supervisory experience.
- 2–3 years hands‑on Epicor ERP (Kinetic or V10) experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of low/medium voltage switchgear construction and UL standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints.
- Familiarity with busbar fabrication/installation, electrical clearances, and calibrated torque tools.
- Clear communicator of technical instructions to diverse teams; able to perform electrical load, torque, and production data calculations.
