Job summary

Southland Industries, Inc. is seeking a foreman to schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small crew on construction projects in Corpus Christi, Texas. You will ensure safety, productivity, and quality while communicating with the superintendent and stakeholders.

The role requires strong leadership, OSHA knowledge, and 5+ years as a tradesperson, with a focus on coordinating tasks, planning, and on-site administration. Union membership may apply, and a Texas license could be required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with other construction trades and crafts.
• Knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts.
• Ability to manage differences and diversity at the workplace.
• Strong planning and scheduling skills.
• Ability to handle administrative duties of position, including completion of required documents.
• Effective use of computers and other technology.
• 5+ years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson.
• OSHA-30 certification (if not currently certified, must be obtained within six months from date of hire).
• Texas Electrical license may be required for field work.
• Employment contingent on active union membership.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small work crew.
• Ensure crew safety, productivity, and adherence to standards.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks.
• Assist superintendent with production progress and quality reports.
• Maintain foreman’s log and daily timekeeping records.
• Verify availability of tools and materials for crew.
• Translate work requirements into prioritized tasks for the crew.
• Set and maintain work standards and promote teamwork.
• Inspect completed work and resolve issues promptly.
• Perform additional assignments as requested.
