Job Overview: The Electrical Superintendent provides input and technical expertise for power-generating construction projects. Support includes engineering review, procurement (if necessary), construction, and start-up of high or medium voltage electrical systems and associated substations. The role involves on-site supervision of Field Engineers and General Foremen to ensure safety, productivity, quality, and cost control. Responsibilities include scheduling labor, materials, tools, equipment, and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with specifications and contracts.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Supervise and direct all General Foremen, Field Engineers, and Foremen on-site, ensuring optimal resource utilization and adherence to policies and regulations.
  • Schedule equipment, materials, tools, and subcontractors to maximize efficiency and minimize costs, collaborating with other projects as needed.
  • Train staff and implement standardized Work Plans, contributing to process improvements.
  • Act as electrical consultant for project teams, overseeing electrical circuits, power quality, switchgear, transmission, interconnect systems, and high voltage systems, including supervision of subcontractors.
  • Ensure safe working conditions and enforce safety procedures according to company, federal, and state regulations, managing employee safety training and hazard controls.
  • Communicate project status, issues, and resource needs with the Site Manager and collaborate with other superintendents and managers on staffing and project planning.
  • Assist in negotiations with owners and foster a professional, collaborative environment with all stakeholders.
  • Monitor project costs, verify conformance with quality standards, and mentor team members on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Identify potential change orders, familiarize with site conditions, and support project close-out activities.
  • Participate in RFIs, support community engagement, and occasionally visit project sites to support estimating and business development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR.
  • Ability to supervise multiple employees and possess thorough knowledge of tools and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills and understanding of job costing.
  • Willingness to relocate to the project site community.
  • Possibly qualified as a journeyman or master electrician.
  • Ability to read prints and understand relevant codes.
