JE Dunn's Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high-performing team focused on cutting-edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of this team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects nationwide, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.
Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Lead all aspects of the company's safety culture, demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through personal actions and mentoring others. Investigate safety incidents and retrain staff as needed.
- Manage subcontractors and organize overall job workflow.
- Oversee company staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and programs such as Safety, Quality, and EEO for small projects or parts of larger projects.
- Develop work plans for subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Coordinate and manage the project site.
- Lead meetings including daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
- Participate in project progress and OAC meetings.
- Manage and adjust the project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Track and monitor project budget and costs using management systems.
- Communicate key project information to all stakeholders.
- Maintain project documentation and update drawings, logs, and notebooks.
- Approve and record cost information, complete reports and logs.
- Evaluate progress and adjust plans as necessary.
- Manage material and equipment needs.
- Support procurement and approval processes.
- Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment for self-perform operations.
- Manage timecard approvals for accurate reporting.
- Ensure quality compliance through specifications and QA/QC processes.
- Support project closeouts and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Understand project pursuit processes and methodologies.
- Participate in project planning, staffing, and change negotiations.
- Support project review meetings and subcontractor negotiations.
- Identify and recruit top talent.
- Promote a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring policy adherence.
Additional Responsibilities - Superintendent 2
- Manage complex standalone projects from start to finish.
- Handle management, scheduling, safety, and quality for projects or project segments.
- Identify and manage project risks.
- Utilize experience to solve problems and recommend solutions.
- Manage deliverables from internal resources.
- Participate in project pursuits and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Work accurately, completely, and timely.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct presentations.
- Proficiency in MS Office, project management, and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of construction management fundamentals and project processes.
- Ability to build relationships and manage budgets profitably.
- Knowledge of trades, self-perform work, and labor productivity.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
- At least 3 years of field supervision experience.
- Experience with Lean principles is a plus.
Working Environment
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel or relocate as needed.
- Exposure to extreme conditions possible.
- Willing to work non-traditional hours.
- Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling; occasional sitting and computer work.
